PLUS dovetail clamps allows to connect Vixen-style and Losmandy-style dovetail bars and are available in different dimensions: this way you can always find the ideal solution for your telescope. Dovetail clamps can be used to replace standard clamps on many mounts, to clamp the EAGLE to dovetail bars, to provide a quick release connection above the EAGLE for a parallel telescope, to clamp a counterweight to a dovetail bar, to create side-by-side plates and install more telescopes in parallel, etc. In this article we see how to use PLUS dovetail clamps with dovetail bars, EAGLE and counterweights for different configurations.

PLUS dovetail clamps can be used, together with the PLUS dovetail bars, to create personalized side-by-side plates. Thanks to the corresponding holes and threaded holes, you can connect every clamp to the Losmandy style dovetail bar with 2 M6 screws and provide a great rigidity. And you’re also free to install different PLUS dovetail clamps on the 2 sides of the dovetail bar, in order to better match weight and dimensions of the instrument you want to connect on top.
If you want to replace your mount standard clamp you can connect the PLUS dovetail clamp (we suggest the larger models) to one of the available mount adapters, by fixing the clamp on the adapter with more M6 screws. This way you can improve your mount by providing a more stable clamp for your telescope.
PLUS dovetail clamps can be used also to clamp the EAGLE to a Vixen-style or a Losmandy-style dovetail bar and use it as a counterweight. Just reverse the EAGLE upside-down and connect the PLUS dovetail clamp (for this application the smaller clamp is fine) and fix it by using more M6 screws. This way you can use the EAGLE as a counterweight and you can easily fix it in different positions on your telescope for a perfect weight balance.
If you have a telescope with a lower weight than the EAGLE’s load capacity, by using the PLUS dovetail clamps you can also install the EAGLE between your mount and telescope. Reverse the EAGLE upside-down and connect a PLUS Losmandy-style dovetail bar on one side by fixing it with more M6 screws. Then, by using more M6 screws, fix the PLUS dovetail clamp (we suggest the BIG model) on the other side. This way you can connect the EAGLE on your mount clamp and then you can connect your telescope above the EAGLE.
PLUS dovetail clamp can be also connected to the PLUS 1 kg counterweight in order to create a simple and compact counterweight that can be clamped to any Vixen-style or Losmandy-style dovetail bar and improve your telescope weight balance. You can connect the PLUS dovetail clamp (we suggest the smaller model) to the PLUS 1 kg counterweight by using the screws that are provided within the counterweight box.
